After studying photography and contemporary art at the University of Paris 8 where she obtained a Master's degree in 2013, Florentine Charon studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris where she obtained her DNSAP in 2017. Recently, she was admitted to the post-graduate program at the Beaux-Arts de Paris where she obtained a scholarship. She has exhibited her work in several countries including in Germany at the Folkwang Museum "Perpetuum Mobile" (2018), in Tokyo at the Suki festival "The Whole and the part" (2017), in Sao Polo "A ilusão da casa "(2017) and in Mexico "Connection" (2016). Her work is also exhibited in the Yvon Lambert Foundation in Avignon during the exhibition ''Rêvez # 2'' in 2017-2018. More recently she realized her first solo exhibition "Dans l'angle ajour" in the Chapel of the Palais de l'Île in Annecy.
Her practice is deployed through different mediums: photography, video, sound and sculpture. What underlies her work is the idea of an impulse, a given impulse to expand, to transmit itself. It is when forces combine, when dualities confront each other, that dynamism emerges. This is translated into forms that suggest something already underway, something that must be taken in progress. We will find in her work slender, contracted, open or modular forms. What interests the artist in these deployments charged with potentiality is the frontality that it generates, of what moves while facing. From her work, through variations in relationships, the paradox of an act that is both lively and restrained in the calm of a felt tension emerges.
